After finishing those it pretty much cleared up the fluff in my brain and things went a lot smoother again. I was cleaning up some files I had been working on and decided to tackle some of the temp art. I didn't even realize it myself until I finally redid the art. I didn't tell him that and he liked it anyway or more likely figured out it was temp stuff by himself and decided it wasn't worth mentioning.Īnyway, I made a mental note of it as something I needed to get back to later, but I think it was bothering me on a subconscious level because I just couldn't get into things anymore after that. What about the second? Well in an effort to get stuff to the coder as fast as I could I left in some temp art which looked bad. I really like this one myself and it isn't even a Joo Dee scene!(I made up for that "lack" during some of my warmup sketching) Not to worry, I got to work on at the very least one scene without any restrictions. It's just that I'd like it even more when I can really cut loose again. When you start out again with a new route it's more geared towards the opposite of that. well, I'm a major pervert and those are just a ton of fun to draw. At the end of a route you pretty much can and need to draw mostly full on intercourse scenes. One of the two biggest hurdles I had to take is the change in hardcore levels. But sometimes things just flow and other times you really have to work at it. Slow isn't really a major problem because I just keep going till whatever I needed finished is finished. I've been making some slow but nice progress these last weeks. I can deal with it pretty much anywhere except there. I'll try and keep it within bounds.įirst of all, mosquitos are horrible, horrible little creatures when they decide to suck your blood near or on one of your knuckles. I call it an art update offically, but we all know what this has turned into. Back with a bag of ramblings for you to shake your head at.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Ron of 59 years, daughter Gayle Morris, sons Steven (Sharon) Geving, Robby (Dayna) Geving, Brian (Vicki) Geving. Marilyn truly was one of a kind and will be greatly missed. Above all else she enjoyed spending time with family, going above and beyond to ensure they all knew how much she loved them. It was also noted she’d never miss an episode of All My Children. The highlight of her travels was a once in a lifetime trip to Sweden with her mother, sisters Val and Sheila, and nephew Zach. She enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, listening to country gospel, family reunions, playing word games, and would never miss an opportunity to travel. Her love of children also led to becoming a foster parent. Her true calling in life was a career as a paraprofessional at the Deer River King School. Marilyn worked various jobs throughout her life which included Howg’s River Side Meats, a dental assistant at Deer River Dental, owner and operator of The Pizza House, and spent a short amount of time at Blueberry Bowl. Together they raised four beautiful children and built a life they loved in Deer River. She was married to her loving husband, Ron, on June 27th 1964. Marilyn grew up in Cohasset and attended school in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. She was born October 12th 1946 in Roseau, Minnesota to George and Vearl (Randall) Howg. It can be used in situations where the Regular is just too light – think of glossy paper, negative text, or smaller sizes on screen. The Book weight sits between the Regular and the Medium, and is only a notch heavier than the former. Suisse Works’ forward-looking attitude is exemplified by the absence of upward-pointing serifs in C, G, S, or the a’s terminal that doesn’t carry a ball but instead is horizontally cut – a feature it has in common with Suisse Int’l and Neue. It’s more sophisticated than the transitional serif typefaces of former times, though, with smoother, consistent details and balanced proportions across all styles. With its tapered serifs and the pronounced contrast along a diagonal stress axis, Suisse Works stands squarely in the tradition of classic reading faces. At the same time, Suisse Works is elegant, too: Especially the italic and bold styles introduce an expressiveness that may serve for catchy titles and headings. Thanks to the efficient spacing, it’s a smart choice for longer texts, in newspapers, magazines, and beyond. The sturdy build provides for an even texture. It’s characterized by wide capitals, a very large x-height, and open apertures, guaranteeing superb readability both in print and on screen. Suisse Works was developed as a serviceable text serif for the 21st century. There are no limits in regard to the number of uses, domains, or website visitors. By the way: At Swiss Typefaces, one license purchase secures you the lifelong right to use the fonts for print, websites, apps, e-publications, broadcasting, and more. And it’s truly international: The current version supports Latin, Cyrillic, and Arabic alphabets, all in one file, for one price. The collection comprises 18 styles: 9 weights from the chic Ultralight to the forceful Black, all equipped with italics. Whether you want to perpetuate their modernist approach, whether your design references this aesthetic in more playful, even ironic ways, or whether you’re just looking for a plain, hard-working sans serif – Suisse Int’l won’t let you down. Suisse Int’l is the present-day equivalent of the type used by the pioneers in Switzerland and beyond. Also known as International Typographic Style, it’s characterized by sans serif type typically set flush-left, in grid-based layouts that are derived from the content. This movement emerged around the schools in Basel and Zürich in the 1950s and aimed to present information objectively. It’s the typeface of choice for any designer who’s fond of the Swiss Style and its legacy. Suisse Int’l is the best Swiss Grotesk available in digital form. Suisse combines classic style with cutting edge design quality and the most user-friendly license. Comprised of 6 collections with a total of 55 styles, Suisse is a utilitarian font set that covers all basic needs of the contemporary typographer, from Suisse Int’l, the go-to Grotesk with its monospaced and condensed companions, to the sturdy text serif Suisse Works, the clear-cut sans serif Suisse Screen, and the reliable slab serif Suisse Neue. The Suisse typeface forms the centerpiece of the Swiss Typefaces library. If you choose the central parking option, anticipate walking with your luggage to the nearest terminal, as there is no provided shuttle service. For higher sample rates, with my Dragonfly Red DAC one has to retreat to Direct Sound and its downsampling, where - I think - the target sample rate needs to be set in the Windows Hardware & Sound setup. Bit depth to my findings cannot be made agree automatically with the source, but needs to be set in foobar2000 (I use 24 bits). This circumvents the WIndows Mixer and outputs all sample rates 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96k from the music source file (FLAC) directly to the USB-DAC. The go-to audio player is foobar2000, which I use with the WASAPI plugin. (I don't think I would need to reiterate the advantages of Linux as an answer to "why don't you stick to Windows then?" here.) I think WIndows can be more easily set up to almost do what I want, certainly more easily than Linux. Windows 10 as a Not-So-Perfect Role Model For a comparison of UAC1 and UAC2, please refer to, which has a comparison table near the end.Ī nice feature of this DAC is that it shows the sample rate coming in by lighting its LED in different colors - very useful for setting up and debugging the system.ģ. like 10 years after that standard had been defined. Windows began offering a UAC2 driver only from the Windows 10 Creators Update (04/2017) onwards, s.th. The company states that it can do the desirable isochronous/asynchronous data transfer which is a characteristic of USB Audio Class-2 (UAC2) devices (instead of isochronous/adaptive in UAC1), although it maxes out at 96k in order to let it operate with the standard MS Windows UAC1 driver. This one is capable of digesting up to 24 bits and sample rates of 44.1, 48.0, 88.2, 96.0 kHz. In order to start, I did chose an Audioquest Dragonfly Red, due to its sound as per the reviews, its capabilities and its fit to a budget. As Ronald van Engelen points out in one of his brilliant blog posts, bit-perfect audio in the end is a bit of an unreachable dream, and for sure there are many more steps to be taken beyond my goal defined above. The Goal: "Near-audiophile", "close-to bit-perfect" Setup for a Computerĭefinition of this term: For now, I am seeking to set up my (single) computer and an external USB-DAC for the best replay possible, taking the DAC output to a headphone or a home stereo. Questions will be asked all along the way.ġ. I will organize this thread and post into several topics, which I will spread over several posts. I guess everybody agrees that the Linux audio stack is very convoluted and maybe even messy., thus hard to comprehend. Be aware that I am going much further than the initial plug-and-play which nowadays works on any operating system, Linux included. Thus, please bear with me and try to give as much feedback as you might have. But I am also aware of the varying quality, applicability, correctness and up-to-date status of contributions literally anywhere, to say the least. To begin with, I am fully aware that there are many forums, blogs etc for computer audiophiles covering all operating systems, and that operating system forums such as this one might not be the obvious first choice to look for help. In opening this thread, I am seeking help from the community here. I am working my way towards turning my computer into a "near-audiophile", "close-to bit-perfect" source for playing audio and video. "But overall what they've done is use too short a wavelength, too high an energy setting, not enough cooling and just really poor technique and unprofessional conduct."Īccident Compensation Corporation (ACC) figures showed there had been at least 39 claims between 20 for injuries caused by IPL. The woman's moles were also targeted during the IPL treatment, which Nicholson said was "horrifying" and could increase her risk of skin cancer. In the woman's case, Nicholson's opinion was that despite it being a "straightforward" treatment, it "end-to-end wasn't done properly". It depended on a customer's sun exposure - but a conversation with the customer was needed to determine this. There was some "controversy" around IPL treatment being done in summer - as was done to the mum of three who received burns. It was regulated under the Health and Disability Commissioner Act 1994, Nicholson said, but that was before treatments like IPL and laser became popular. Some progress had been made recently by having the industry recognised as 'health' instead of 'creative industries'. She had pushed for regulation for nearly 20 years. New Zealand Laser Training Institute director Ruth Nicholson said she has almost given up hope of any improvements being made in the industry - saying there was no one "quick fix". The beauty industry was covered by some regulation, but most people were unaware of it, a laser training expert says. She was in the process of filing a submission to have the industry come under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act and had also started a petition.
